Check that the medication is in original packaging, has clear labelled instructions, is in date

Check when it was last given

Ensure that you are working in two’s

Check the measured dose is correct with other staff member

Complete medication record

Check it is the correct child

Give medication

Check the name and the dose

Check the permission record

Wash hands

Put away medication and wash hands
