The holiday is believed to have originate from a Celtic festival called Samhain. When the Romans conquered the Celtic territories, they unify their festival called Feralia with the celtic festival Samhain. The night before All Saints' Day became known as All Hallows' Eve, later shortened to Halloween.

Trick-or-Treating is the most well-known Halloween tradition, the kids use costumes and go door-to-door in their neighborhood, saying "trick-or-treat" and collecting candies. Jack-o'-Lanterns is a tradition where people carve faces into their pumpkins, to they look funny or scary. Samhain Rituals where some pagan or Wiccan communities celebrate Samhain festival.

Halloween is celebrated at English-speaking countries such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland. However, other contries started celebrating this holiday too like Mexico, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and many more.

People celebrate Halloween on 31st October and this holiday is considered one of the word's oldest holidays.
