Why is salah IMPORTANT

• On the day of judgement it is the first thing we will be asked about by allah.
• It allows us to communicate with Allah, listen to Allah and follow in the footsteps of the prophets.

PILLARS of salah

The 14 pillars of salah are:(1) Standing if able (2) opening Takbeer (3) Reciting Surah Al-Faatihah (4) Bowing (5) Rising from Bowing (6) going to sujood on 7 points (7) getting up from sujood (8) Sittingbetween the two sujood (9) Remaining tranquil during all of these pillars (10) Maintaining the same sequence (11) the Final Tashahhud(12)Sitting for it(13) Sending Salaat on the Prophet(14) the final Tasleems.

CONDITIONS OF SALAH

The nine conditions of salah are:(1) Islam (2) Sanity(3) Age of maturity(4) Uplifting impurity(5) Removing of dirt - our bodies , our clothes, the place we are praying in.(6) Covering the awrah - for girls (everytime except our face and hands) , for boys ( from the naval (belly butoon) to knees(7) Entrance of Salah time(8) Facing the Qiblah(9) Intention

8 obligations of salah

(1) All of the Takbeers except for the Opening Takbeer

(2)Saying “Subhaana Rabby al-‘Adheem ” [Perfect is my Lord, the Most Great] whilebowing.

(3) Saying “Sami’a Allaahu Liman Hamidahu” [Allaah hears the one who praises Him]

(4) Saying “Rabbanaa wa Lakal-Hamd” [Our Lord to You belongs the Praise]

(5) Saying “Subhaana Rabby al-A’alaa” [Perfect is my Lord, the most High] while prostrating

(6) Saying “Rabb Ighfir Lee” [My Lord, forgive me] while in between the two prostrations

(7) The first Tashahhud

(8) Sitting for it.

' That mankind was only created for one reason: to worship Him. And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). The salah is the second pillar of Islam and it is a critical part of a Muslim's faith.
