Wellbeing is a positive experience by individuals and societies. As health, it is a resource for everyday life and depends on the social, economical and environmental conditions.

HOUSING -Housing quality affects the family's ability to function at its best. -The appearance of mould for example can be the reason why people develop headaches, asthma or even worst health conditions (Kineara, n.d.) EMPLOYMENT -The after effects of what employment have such as financial contentment and less worries shows the positive impact employment bring to ones wellbeing; whereas, unemployment have an opposite effect such as stress, depression, poverty and lack of purpose.

Community, organizational and personal wellbeing is tightly interwoven with a system of interdependence; to foster one, you must comprehend the others.(PRILLELTENSKY, I., AND PRILLELTENSKY, O., 2006)

factors that promote sense of wellbeing

STRENGTHS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY

THIS COMMUNITY HAVE A SIGNIFCANT AMOUNT OF GREEN SPACE. HOWEVER, IT LACKED PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS. A HUGE PART OF THE GREENERY WAS USED UP BY THE BEAUCHIEF GOLF CLUB AND SOME OF THE SPACES ARE NOT UTILISED. ON THE OTHER HAND THE BEAUCHIEF GARDEN IS VERY SMALL. IT LACKED RAMPS AND PATHWAYS ARE SLIPPERY WHICH IS LESS ACCESSIBLE FOR SOME PEOPLE. OUT OF ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL GREEN SPACES IN THE COMMUNITY, THE GROUP SUGGESTS THAT THESE AREAS COULD'VE BEEN USED TO CREATE MORE ACCESSIBLE PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS TO HELP PEOPLE BECOME MORE ACTIVE IN THIS COMMUNITY.

STRENGTHS that enhanced THE COMMUNITY

The accessibility to the greenhill medical centre is something I observed. This is a big strength as this allows for the health wellbeing of the residents in that community to be catered to well. Furthermore, the same applies to beauchief also Greenhill also has private and nhs dentist centres available which accommodates for the community oral health; also, this prevents travelling any longer for oral treatment which once again benefits the community Greenhill has a pharmacy available for the community to receive their prescribed medication or over the counter medicine much quicker; this reduces the delay on treating the community.

SIGNS

  • SITE: the environment impacts wellbeing. Tons of green space, local businesses, clean and feels safe. INDICATES WELLBEING
  • SOURCE: only private gp's, dentists, lots of social events such as the Beauchief Environment group and most people seem to have a job.
  • STRATEGIES: the Beauchief Environment group is planning on keeping the area green.
  • SYNERGY: even though there is a lot of green space, there's very little ways the public can interact with it as there isn't many parks.
  • SIGNS: area appeared nice and clean with very little garbage

How do these factors promote sense of wellbeing?

Dahlgren and whitehead rainbow modelThe rainbow model seems to have opened the eyes and mind, challenging people not to only improve health services and the health sector but also get out of it to look at local environments and society as holistic social determinants of health (Dahlgren and Whitehead, 2021).

51.6% of adults do not exercise

34.4% of adults eat 5 portions of 5 a day

Lack of facilities where adults could do training and exercise such as gyms, indoor swimming pools, sports center and outdoor activities that is accessible within the community.

More than half of the population in the community are not eating their 5 a day. This might be due to the health and wellbeing of the person. Stress can cause people to do stress eating to comfort themselves.

Healthy child development is neglected might be due to low income and social status. Children eat more junk as it is cheaper than quality food.

There were no intended spaces/playground for children to play with. That leads to children getting less exercise.

RISKS IN BEAUCHIEF AND GREENHILL, are there any?

On February 11, 2010, the Marmot Review on health inequalities in England was released. In order to deal with the social determinants of health—the circumstances surrounding an individual's birth, development, living, employment, and aging..)

If these inequalities are not overcome, then it can lead to the next generation having to go through the same inequalities again.

MARMOTS REVIEWS(Marmot et al., 2010)

(SOCIO-ECONOMIC UNDERSTANDING INEQUALITIES, 2021)

inequality is defined as the differences in social class, education and/or household income across groups of children young people and families.

  • is critical that people in the community feel comfortable in their homes, places of employment, and recreational areas.
  • Communities that are stronger and more resilient have citizens who are safe and well.
  • An individual's mental health is negatively impacted by financial difficulties. They may experience anxiety or depression as a result of stress related to debt or other money problems.

The biopsychosocial model is a general model positing that biological, psychological and social factors, all play a significant role in health and disease (Laborde and Sylvain, 2016). Biological Factors: this component considers the physiological aspects of health and disease. Surveys done in the community we visited revealed that over 50% of the residents smoke cigarettes and do not exercise. This is a major vulnerability for the community.

BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL MODEL

+info

Psychological Factors: It refers to the mental and emotional aspects of an individual's health. According to (Sheffield.gov.uk, 2017) average monthly rent for the community is £575 and 603 of local people privately rented. Anxiety and stress can be called on by specific circumstances, such as having to pay rent, bils and other expenses that directly affect one's psychological wellbeing. Social factors: Social aspects include everything that affects a person's health, including connections, support networks, family, culture, and financial situation. In the beauchief and green hill there are lots of green spaces that allow to local people do their local activities and boost their mood. In addition, lots of social events such as the Beauchief Environment group are good place to people communicate together and support their network.

BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL MODEL

  • In 2022 the UK government launched a five-year plan to reduce suicide. This includes consulting individuals to the NHS whilst also analyzing data to discover risk factors around suicide (GOV.UK, 2023). His is significant because in England and Wales there are 11 deaths caused by suicide for every 100,000 people (Office for National Statistics, 2022).
  • This is significant because the government is targeting all aspects of suicide prevention which means mental health services in all parts of the UK will be improved which will help the communities support services significantly.

impact of key government policies

ENVIRONMENt

  • • The group recommends to add enough light during the dark hours to increase the feeling of safety.
  • • The group recommends to construct different playgrounds.
  • • The group recommends to add more public transportation to the area to increase the accessibility inside the area.
  • • The group recommends to add more than one secondary school because there is the demand for it
  • • Adding free programs by council to encourage people think more about their health and wellbeing like meditation events.
  • • The group recommends to provide more accommodations for students to support them to study. According to Jordanthorpe’s article the students create 0% of households (Jordanthorpe et al., 2017).
  • • The group recommends to add more Opticians in the area because the area lacks Opticians (Jordanthorpe et al., 2017).

A NURSE's holistic care role involves patient centered care, seeing the person as a whole and not the disease. THIS INVOLVES BEING AWARE OF THE PERSON'S EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL AND MENTAL NEEDS. THE NMC (n.d.) set an improved standard which are: Greater emphasis on being person centered and a focus on mental, physical, cognitive and behavioral health across the life span.

IN THE PCC MODEL, PATIENTS ARE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS In DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR HEALTH, PHARMACOLOGIC AND NON-PHARMACOLOGIC INTERVENTIONS, AND CHOICE OF SURGICAL PROCEDURE (E2018). THE INITaL INTERACTION IS ALWAYS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE, AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT Radiographers have to continuously remember. asKing them about themselves is also a smart place to start.

SOCIAL WORKERS DEAL WITH PEOPLE'S SOCIAL, PERONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS AND TRY TO WORK WITH THE INDIVIDUAL OR/and their family to solve these issues. SOCIAL WORKERS MUST ALSO BE ABLE TO WORK WELL ALONGSIDE OTHERS IN THE WIDER HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE, AS THEY MAY NEED GUIDANCE OR TO ASK A SECOND OPINION ON THEIR SERVICE USER.

Muskaan Iqbal

A theraputic radiographer uses radiation to treat cancer. There are no cancer centres in our community area, as well as no cancer suppport centres or awareness campaigns. To overcome this, I would recommend promoting more cancer awareness campaigns so that the community can catch the early signs and symptoms of cancer.

Dawit Tekele

AS A DIAGNOSTIC RADIOGRAPHER, PRIORITISING PATIENT CENTERED CARE IS VITAL AS A WAY OF GIVING HOLISTIC CARE. SOCIAL WELLBEING IS IMPERATIVE AS A RADIOGRAPHER TO GAIN THE TRUST OF YOUR OATIENT AND BUILD. A GOOD RAPPORT WITH THEM TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE WITH YOU.
