¿Qué era el genocidio bosnio?

El Genocidio Bosnio era la guerra en Bosnia después de la desintegración de Yugoslavia. Se cometieron vearios actos contra los derechos de los humanos.

¿Cuántas personas murieron?

En 1995, el ejército serbio y grupos paramilitares acabaron con la vida de alrededor de 8.000 personas musulmanas de origen bosnio con el fin de realizar una limpieza étnica. Estos sucesos tuvieron lugar en la región de Srebrenica.

Radovan Karadžić, ex líder de los serbios de Bosnia. Condenado por genocidio en relación con la matanza de Srebrenica. También fue declarado responsable de crímenes de lesa humanidad y crímenes de guerra –incluidos tortura, violación y muerte bajo custodia de miles de personas. Ratko Mladic, ex jefe del Estado Mayor del Ejército de la República Srpska y conocido como el carnicero de Srebrenica. Fue condenado en 2017 a cadena perpetua por genocidio, crímenes contra la humanidad y crímenes de guerra.
