SIGN UP

Go to Genially.com. Click Sign Up in the top right-hand corner and follow the steps to create an account. You should receive an confirmation email. Click on the link in the email to verify your email address. Go back to Genially and login.

My Space is where you can see all your creations.

Backgrounds

Go to the background menu on the left sidebar. The canvas background is the area of your creation that’s always visible. The base background is only visible on bigger screens and is designed so that content fits and looks good regardless of the size of the device. Find images and GIFs or upload your own. Backgrounds can be solid colors, premade ones from Genially, or search Pixabay. They even have animated backgrounds.

Text

Just click in a text box to start editing or add text from the left sidebar. There are preset font combinations and text boxes to make it easy. All the standard options to change font, size, bold, color, etc. is available across the top.

In the top toolbar, click on Edit image for options, like crop, flip in all directions, or zoom. You can change the size by dragging one of the corners of an image. Change the transparency and play with the order of the layers .

Upload your own photos from your computer or the cloud, or choose from those available in the gallery: cutouts, image banks, and GIFs.

Resources

Bring out your most creative side and add more resources from the left sidebar, such as shapes, icons, lines, and more! You can change the size, color, and transparency. On top of that, everything can be interactive and animated.

Animations

Just like PowerPoint or Canva, you can animate items. Movement catches people’s attention, surprises them, and reinforces your message by appearing right moment. They can have specific moves on entrance, exit, continuously, when the cursor hovers over, or when you click on an object.

Audio

You can add pre-recorded audio or record right in the project.

Just click on the insert option in the left panel.

Multimedia content is essential in a presentation, to leave everyone amazed.

Publish

It will ask you to publish before you can share or move to present mode. To publish your genially for the first time, and to be able to share it, you need to indicate that it’s ready to go. Click on All set and you’ll see the publishing options.

1. In the Editor, click on the Share button in the top right corner of the screen. If you don’t see this option, it means you need to publish your genially. 2. In the Link tab, you’ll see the Social page option, where you can copy the link or view your creation on its social page.

Share

The URL of your genially is unique and never changes. Even if you modify your genially, its web address stays the same, and the people who have the link will always see the latest version.

Interactivity is the key to capturing the interest and attention of your audience. A genially is interactive because your audience can explore and engage with it.

Use if you want something new to be discovered by hovering the mouse over the text/image. This is best for short messages, labels, and descriptions.
