Information sheet about volunteering organisation.

Here is an example of a information sheet about volunteering, do some research and create one about a specific organisation that does volunteering. Be sure to include some crucial facts about the work they do, like this shows about your chosen organisation. You can save this work in the UNIT PS11 Contributing to the community document you set up the other day. Remember to display your information clearly and feel free to use visuals to enhance the way your information sheet looks. Challenge yourself to use new tools on the computer. If you do try new IT skills remember to log this as time on your EEPS on Etracker.

Start to think about what typeof volunteering you would like to do

The pot will be shaken up and then you will pick out a post it. (Hopefully its not yours)You will then be required as homework to find out 3 things about that organisation and document them in your PS11 contributing to a communty document.
You should have thought about some different places to volunteer. Now write 1 of your options on a post it note and place in the pot provided.

Knowledge and sector skills

Unit introduction Volunteers are a key resource for the public services. Some public services, for example the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), would not be able to operate without the skills, experience and fund-raising activities of volunteers. By working as a volunteer, you are making a contribution to your local community and are also gaining new skills. Volunteering can be enjoyable and is a good way to meet people of different ages, cultural backgrounds and nationalities who have similar interests. In this unit, you will find out about a voluntary organisation and its activities. You will present information on this organisation and its activities that have a positive impact on the community. The transferable and sector skills you develop in this unit can enable you to progress to further learning.

Skills needed to take part in a volunteering activity • Commitment, discipline, self-management, time management. • Appropriate interpersonal skills, to include teamwork, respect, help, participation. • Specific skills or abilities needed for some types of voluntary work, e.g. driving, cooking, using a computer, being able to communicate using sign language, physical fitness
