Climate

2023

“We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it.” - (B.obama,2014)

- Vandana Shiva

“Climate change is not just a problem for the future. It is impacting us every day, everywhere.”

(shiva,2020)

statisitics report

- Due to human activity, the land, seas, and atmosphere have warmed to levels never before seen, causing rapid changes in the cryosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and oceans. Unfortunately, many of these changes which primarily affect the ocean, ice sheets, and global sea levels are irreversible and will take decades or even generations to reverse. With growing data connecting human-caused climate change to catastrophic heatwaves, heavy rains, droughts, and tropical cyclones, this global dilemma has an impact on every region of the planet (UN,2023). - Global surface temperatures are expected to rise until the middle of this century at the latest. We are on the verge of exceeding the crucial 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold, which could result in far more dire climate consequences, unless substantial and immediate action takes place to reduce greenhouse gas emissions- Alarming trends in a rise in the severity and frequency of hot extremes, marine heatwaves, significant precipitation, agricultural and ecological droughts, increased tropical cyclone activity, and the disturbing loss of Arctic Sea ice, snow cover, and permafrost are all consequences of growing temperatures worldwide

national CASE (INDIAS CLIMATE ACTIONS)

The National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) of India highlights a comprehensive strategy that is embodied in eight national missions, covering vital domains like solar energy, water, and sustainable agriculture.ALTHOUGH India has made significant progress in the field of renewable energy, the country still heavily depends on coal for energy generation, which contributes to high carbon emissions

Setback

Progress

Copenhagen has made a bold commitment to renewable energy and sustainable urban design by announcing its goal to become the first carbon-neutral capital of the world by 2025

conclusion

I urge you to make sustainability your top priority—not merely as a political agenda item, but as a fundamental principle essential to the survival and well-being of our world. This is a shared obligation that cuts across boundaries and beliefs it is not only a youth issue but in fact an issue to all of us in the future and present time. Let this be the point at which we move from words to actions, from promises to tangible transformation. The world is waiting for your bold moves towards a sustainable future, and the youth are watching. Thank you
