Give me as many outer / middle ear problems as you can.If more than X, you can move two spaces forward
Problems with outer or middle ear:
- Birth defects causing changes in the structure of the ear canal or middle ear
- Build up of ear wax
- Build up of fluid behind the eardrum
- Objects stuck in the ear canal
- Scar on the eardrum from many infections
Draw and describe the histology of abnormal muscular tissue in DMD
Loss of dystrophin -> damage of muscle cells -> degeneration of muscle cells in response, skeletal muscle tries regenerating new fibres -> many small muscle cells Over time, degeneration > replacement + muscle tissue replaced by connective tissue
A question for everyone...Give as many milestones a child should have achieved by 2 years of age? Most moves 2 spaces, 2nd and 3rd move 1 space
Two year physical milestones: Attempts ball kicking + runs well Jumps w/ both feet leaving the floor at same time Holds pencil using thumb + first two fingers Strings small items like beads onto string Drinks from cup w/ no lid Two year communication milestones: Can pretend + role play Can name well known objects Correctly uses words like 'I' , 'mine' and 'you' Will put two / three words together

A question for all...Give me as many short-term problems associated with prematurity as possibleDifference between 1st and 2nd is how many spaces 1st goes in front (within reason)...
- Small size (head that large compared with the body)
- Features that are sharper and less rounded than a full-term baby due to lack of cells that store fat
- Fine hair that covers much of the body
- Lowe body temperature after birth: babies don't have as much stored body fat and can't make enough heat to counter what is lost through the surface of their bodies
- Trouble breathing: lungs aren’t fully developed and lack surfactant
- Heart problems: common problems are patent ductus arteriosus (PDA - opening between the aort and pulmonary artery) and low blood pressure
- Brain problems: at greater risk of bleeding in the brain (intraventricular haemorrhage)
- Digestive problems: more likely to have digestive systems that aren't fully developed - can result in necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) where the cells lining the bowel wall are injured
- Metabolism problems: may have very low level of blood sugar as they have smaller amounts of stored blood sugar than full-term babies
- Immune system problems: immune systems aren't fully developed so are at greater risk of illness
- Feeding issues
