unlike productions in the beginning of the hollywood, modern day studios are assigned to make about two movies a year. Within these production the company would hire directors, line producer and upm. this doesnt nessisarily mean that all directors, Line producers and upm will be the same people as in previous movies and or be contracted to one specific production comapny. this goes along with the contracts of a actor, actors do not have a contract to only be in certain film production movies as they have their own agencies or freelanced. in todays film society we are more inclusive in giving oppertunites to new come directors and filmmakers and actors.

WITH THE BIG 5 AND LITTLE 3 BEING CREATE THROUGHOUT THIS GOLDEN PERIOD, IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL TIME FOR CREATORS TO EXPERIMENT DIFFERENT THINGS TO ADAPT AND EVALATE THE FILM INDUSTRY. oNE GOOD EXAMPLE WAS WARNER BROS CREATING SOUND FOR THEIR MOVIES. OPENINGS OF CINIMAS (nICKLEODEN AT THE TIME) AND THE USE OF THE CONVEYABELT METHOD WAS ADAPTED INTO THE INDUSTRY ALLOWING MOVIE PRODUCTION COMPANIES TO PUBLISH MANY MOVIES AT A TIME. EVEN THOUGH THIS MADE HUGE PROFITS FOR THE COMPANY THERE WAS ALOT OF DISADVATAGES FROM THIS. CREATIVITY WAS FORCED UPON CREATORS THEREFORE MOST MOVIES WERENT REALLY THOUGHT THROUGH AND MOST HAD A LACK OF CREATIVITY, UNFAIR CONTACTS BINDED ACTRORS TO THE FILM INDUSTRIES AND THE CREATIVE MEDIA SOON BEGAN TO BE A MONEY EARNING COMPETITION.

COMTEMPORY HOLLYWOOD WAS THE ERA WHERE IT HAS SHAPED THE INDUSTRY WE HAVE TODAY, INDEPENDANT CINIMAS BEGAN TO OPEN AND COMPANY OWNED NIKLEODEANS WERE CLOSING. a SUPREME CASE COURT OF THE PARAMOUNTCASE WASBROUGHT TO MEDIA BY VIOLATING ANTI-TRUST RULES. THESE EVENTS CREATED ADVANTAGES SUCH AS DRIVE IN CINEMAS AND ALLOWING SMALL FILMMAKERS TO MAKE APPEARENCE IN THE INDUSTRY (sPILLBURG IS A GREAT EXAMPLE. hOWEVER EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE GOLDEN ERA THERE WAS ALSO DISADVANTAGES TO THIS TIME OF HOLLYWOOD. THE MOVIES THAT WAS BEING RELAISED WERE NO LONGER MAKING AS MICH MONY AS THEY DID IN THE BEGINNING OF THE cLASSIC ERA AS INDEPENDT CINIEMAS PERSONALLY CHOSE FILMS WITH SMALLER COSTS. pROFITS AND INVESTMENTS ALSO DECREASED FOR MOVIE INDUSTIRES CAUSING SOME SMALL COMPANIES GO COMPLETELY BANKRUPT! THIS WAS A DARK ERA FOR SOME.

from all my research i havecollected i believe that contempary hollywood was the better era out of the two. From i financial point of veiw it is clear to see that not many of the big 5 are collecting as much income as they had before when they had all had their own personal nickleodeons, however this has brought individual and new film companies to the surface and have become apart of a big community creating and producing the art of film. from an actors perspective i also believe that it has developed to a more freelancing and safer feild for actors as we have heard from countless sotries from the classic hollywood star the treatment and the possesion they held over the actors was outright disrespectful and completely unfair. in my final conclusion i feel like we have redevloped the natural thinking of creativity as from the past era we had a fall in natural creativity as companies such as warner bros wanted to have new movies each week. therefore squeezing every ounce of creativity from film creators mind which i'm glad most comapnies dont do now, which has now (from my opinion) more diverse and creative movies of all time.

personal conclusion

the british industry is under a support group called 'compnay funding'. speciffically Bfi has bben fundered by the national lotery that'll grant them a average £3.5 mil for a movie to be made in their support.

strengths and weakness within the bfi

  • they created history and influence
  • woked with world renouned movies such as harry potter
  • unique locations and focilities
  • skilled and verstile workforce

  • competition of different media such as games and social media
  • rising cost marketing has gotten difficult for some feilds includeing bfi

uk funing routes in tvand film

final summery

uk film funding can go through two seperate routes: a contracted company fund or crownfunding. company funds is were a company would give a film company money to produce a movie howver get money back in return from the grossing of the movie when its released. Crowdfunding can be created through different websiteswhere you create a blog, rundown and or teaser trailer of what the movie is and why'd you like perople to donate for the movie creation. In return movies such as c.o.c can reward your contribution from free merch, mention in the credits and lucky draws.
