Around the globe

India, Bhutan, Laos, Bangladesh, and Vietnam have all had similar fates with climate change. Monsoons, drought, increased temperatures, and flooding has been seen throughout all of these surrounding countries as well. The problems here also bring food security and water problems to many surrounding countries.

Following these changes in the environment, human life has been impacted as well. Food security has been threatened along with water supply and infrastructure. Landslides and flash floods have occured more frequently which has caused injuries, damage to buildings and homes, and destruction to farmland/ crops.

As a result of climate change, specifically from greenhouse gases there has been many changes regarding the environment of Nepal. The nature, amount, and timing of monsoon rains has been altered. Also, the temperature has increased as well as rainfall patterns have changed. Drought and flooding have also become more common and extreme due to climate change

This plan was created as a strategy to help combat or adapt to the ongoing climate crisis that Nepal is currently facing.
