- adding and increaseing amount of onsite (businesses) and at home renewable energy sources (solar panels)
- use public transportation to reduce vechicle emmisions and increase the amount of electric vehicles on the road
- Reduce the Amount of Waste Generated and Divert Waste from Waste-to-Energy Landfills and Facilities
- partner up with other active climate change initiatives in place in Fairfax county
Actions being taken in this initiative and actions the initiative wants citizens to take:
In 2022 the board of supervisors for the Fairfax County goverment implemented the CECAP. The goal of CECAP is for everyone through out the county to reduce their greenhouse gas emmsisons. This plan highlights what actions are already in place and what actions need to be taken by the government and citizins of Fairfax County, to reduce greenhouse gas emmision to help control the rising temperatures.
WHAT IS CECAP?
CECAP stands for Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan
Resilient Fairfax is a plan and program to help Fairfax County adapt and become more resilient to changing climate-related conditions such as extreme heat, severe storms, and flooding. This initiative was introducaed in Novemeber 2022, and is currently in the implementation stage. Resilient Fairfax focuses on handling the effects of climate change, while CECAP focuses on addressing the cause of climate change through emissions reduction.
