Unit 4 Atlantic Revolutions Sneak Peek

The Glorious Revolution - 1 of 2 Bloodless Revolutions in the Unit Hmm. What do you do when Parliament wants you off the throne and plots for your daughter to remove you? Do you hesitate when you remember what happened to your older brother's head? And if you're the daughter and son-in-law, would you sign a new English Bill of Rights thrust towards you before your coronation? Remember your dad and uncle!

Brazilian Independence in 3 Minutes

Brazil and Portugal

Brazil is the other 1 of 2 bloodless revolutions in this unit. Can you count this as a real revolution when the king and queen are your parents, and they just give you the "new country" to keep citizens from rebelling? You be the judge.

French Revolution - A Dumpster Fire Believe it or not, the Enlightened thinkers who spearheaded these revolutions are going to totally jack up their revolution! Sorry, La Fayette! On the bright side, this is the cutest informational video that quickly summarizes this hot mess revolution.

Haitian Revolution - Still the ONLY successful slave revolution to end in independence. BUT...you know there's a but! Check out this One Minute History overview video of the Haitian Revolution.

Latin American Revolutions (other than the ones in Haiti and Mexico) Ooh, money will definitely be a motivator on this one. Stay tuned for the adventures of Simon Bolivar, José de San Martin, and many more as they stand up against the Spanish...and French...and British...and the United States kinda. Wait! What?!

Mexico's Battles for Independence Father Hidalgo will stand up with his Grito de Dolores (check out where Dolores is located) to rally the citizens against France and Spain.Although it won't work out well for him, General Iturbide will join others to finish the fight...for a little while. Then, it starts all over again. Ugh! People just want to be left alone to live like everyone else. Gosh!

So you think you know all there is about the American Revolution? We'll see. Remember you're growing in your thinking and analysis. Might as well hit you with a song.
