Fun Fact! this was published one year after "Frankenstien" by Mary Shelly, who was considered to be the first Sci-fi horror story. She is also considered, by some, The Mother of Horror!

Not many people know about this story, it is thought that it fell into a bit of a literary hole because of its content.

Penny Dreadfuls were cheap popular literature during the 19th century, they were 8-16 pages and costed a penny in the United Kingdom. (Also known as "penny awful, penny blood, and penny horrible)

This movie is technically (and technically NOT) an adaptation of Bram Stroker's "Dracula" however to prevent copyright they changed quite a few things!

Buffy was a teen girl turned vampire slayer, there is only one in the world awakened at the time of the last's death. This came out in 1992.

This is less fun and more fact but the five year old vampire daughter was based on Anne Rice's real daughter Michele who died of Leukemia at five years old, this caused a nightmare involving blood which inspired her to write. Lestat is based on her husband.

A big deal at it's release in 1994 this movie had it's own behing the scenes documentary.

Released in 1997 this cult classic dropped the movie into a memory hole.

This movie was a big deal vampire wise, considerably the first day walker. This movie was released in 1998

The first book of this series was released in 2001, beating Twilight by four years.

Twilight came out in 2008, it was a big deal amongst teens. Not only was it's surronding content interactive but it's lore is very interesting!

In the book the description of what the vampire looks like is very specific, to achieve the detailed look both actors had to hang upside down until all of the blood rushed to their heads so the vein patterns would look realistic.

Alexander Skarsgard isn't the only vampire in this film family!

This show is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" by Charlene Harris. Kristen Bauer Van Straten had to not only speak in a southern accent but speak Swedish with it, learned from Swedish co-star Alexander Skarsgard.

On September 11th, 2001 Gerard Way witnessed the fall of the twin towers on his way to work. Due to the near (literally) death experience he formed a band called My Chemical Romance, which Stephanie Meyer listened to. This inspired her to write Twilight (a song called "Vampire Money" was made in response). "50 Shades of Grey" by E L James is a Twilight fanfiction.

In 2005 there was a short film called "What We Do In The Shadows: Interview with Some Vampires" written by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. They later reprise their roles for this movie.

One of the plot holes in this show is actually their most spoken about subject. Each doppelgänger has a soulmate, they are born in pairs except two of the women and two of the men do not (there are seven total). This show has two spin offs (one great, one unnecessary in my opinion)

This web-series was very small when it started, filmed in one room each season, it recently (2017) got it's own movie. This makes this, that movie, and a movie by the same name in 2019 he only adaptations of the book by Sheridan Le Fanu.

This was the first vampire media I had ever seen. Me and my cousins watched seasons go from 22 episodes to 8-10, very disappointing. I can still recite the lore!

This show came out in 2019 and it's just as funny as its predecessor. with a lot of fun referances to other films.

Depending on how this movie is watched the vampirism is a cool surprise, it came out in August 26nd, 2022.

This show is almost a rewrite of the books by the author herself before her death. The show came out in October 2nd, 2022.

This story depicts the journey Dracula makes from his castle to Mina Harker, it came out in 2023.

A remake of the very first ampire movie ever created in 1922 this is the new upcoming vampire movie set to come out in 2024.

The two actors in this film are very close friends and have several social media accounts answering questions about the show and the books (both actors read them and it shows in their performance). Anne Rice herself made all changes from the original book prior to her death.
