Elearning or Online learning?
Which comes first: Chicken or Egg?
E-learning or electronic learning is mostly associated with learning activities involving computers and interactive networks simultaneously. (The internet and intranets are considered networks.) However, the computer does not need to be the central element of the activity or provide learning content.
Online learning is associated with content readily accessible on a computer via the use of learning content available using internet. Originally, the term also includes learning content installed on a CD-ROM or the computer hard disk. Nowadays, because of extensive cloud storage, the term online learning means you are "online".
WHAT IS FLEXIBLE LEARNING?is the umbrella term that refers to the provision of a range of learning modes or methods giving learners greater choice of when, where and how they learn.
WHAT IS BLENDED LEARNING?
Blended learning is an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional classroom instructions. It is a blend of the two instructional pedagogies. The presence of teacher/trainer interacting with learners must be evident.

WHAT IS DISTANCE LEARNING?
-Mode of learning in which students and teachers are physically separated from each other. It is a student-centered, guided independent study making use of well — studied teaching and learning pedagogies to deliver well-designed learning materials through various media.

What is TRANSACTIONAL DISTANCE?
This theory articulates the idea that “distance education is not simply a geographic separation of learners and teachers, but, more importantly, is a pedagogical concept.” It is about separation between the teacher and learner that is significant enough that special teaching-learning strategies and techniques must be used to minimized it.
SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
- refers to all types of learning in which learner(s) and instructor(s) are in the same place, at the same time, in order for learning to take place. Example:- Zoom meeting; Google meet, etc. - Whiteboard (when all participants are on at the same time) - Chat Group (members are online at the same time.
- refers to types of learning where the premise is that learning can occur in different times and spaces particular to each learner. It is considered a learner-centered teaching method widely used in online learning. Example:- - Discussion board - - Distance learning materials - - Chat Group (unless all participants are online. - Asynchronous learning activities in LMS
LMS
- Learning activities in progressive LMS can now be done with combination of Synchronous & Asynchronously learning activities.
