Vinyl records were most popular in the 1950's to 80's, but the younger generation has gained interest in the old technology, resulting in new statistics for the record industry.

2022 was the first year since 1987 where vinyl records were sold more than CDs.

Vinyl records had a 17% increase in revenues for $1.2 billion in 2022.

For the first time in more than three decades, vinyl's outsold CDs in number of units.
