Have you met the queen of ? Her name is Olga Korbut, an amazing Russian gymnast born in Grodno, USSR. (in 1955)Olga was short, only 1.5 meters tall, but she was very strong. People loved to watch Olga do gymnastics. Her routines were fast and exciting!

She performed a new move called the "Korbut Flip." Today, gymnasts at the Olympics can't do the Korbut Flip because it is too dangerous.She studied at a school where athletes trained. She was part of the Olympic team when she was only 17 years old. Olga won four gold and two silver medals at the Olympic Games in 1972 and 1976.Olga became a top gymnast by practicing for many hours every day. Many young athletes learned from her and today gymnastics is one of the most popular sports in the world.
