creating a great presentation

Editing an intranet page

Across our three campuses, we have plasma screens which can be used to promote key messages, events and activities. On these, we prioritise messages for students. The process is simple, though it's important to allow as much lead time as possible. Read our step-by-step guide.

There are lots of useful resources available on the intranet to help you edit your pages:

The intranet is a great way to communicate regular updates from your team. Each school and service has its own area of the intranet.

Intranet news stories

Posting a news story on the intranet is one of the easiest ways to share and promote what you’re doing. Once posted, news items are published to your area’s news feed and automatically to the UEL staff homepage.

Newsletters

WFS (Wellness, Fairness & Success) daily is sent every weekday. All content is aligned to a theme: Motivational Monday, Transformation Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thankful Thursday and Feel Good Friday. If you have news, a story or an event that you’d like included, contact communications@uel.ac.uk.

Our student newsletter goes out via the CRM every Monday. If you have a story or information that you think would interest our students, please email communications@uel.ac.uk with your content suggestion by Wednesday at 3pm to discuss the details.

*Please note that with all the great stories at UEL, we cannot always accommodate every request. We do our best to prioritise the most relevant news stories for each of our newsletters.

Posters, banners or vinyls can be a stand-out way to communicate messages to staff and students when they visit campus. Please note: every campus has one designated poster section - please do not place posters elsewhere. Find out more. Again, we have step-by-step instructions to lead you all the way from idea to product.

Emails are the best way to reach small, targeted groups of people. For instance, people on a project team or people in your directorate. At UEL, we do not send out all staff and all student emails, except in business critical circumstances. In these cases, you must send the email copy to the Vice-Chancellor & President, who will consider if it is sufficiently urgent. For more advice, contact communications@uel.ac.uk.
