Access to the Brandenburg gate was cut off when the Berlin Wall was erected in 1961. During the time of Berlin Wall (1961-1989), no one could visit this famous symbol of Berlin, Germany.

Humboldt Harbor

Just after 4 PM Gunter Litfin attempted to reach West Berlin by jumping into the Humboldt Harbor. He was fatally wounded just before reaching the West Berlin bank.
