Skipper

Skipper is the official leader of the Penguin Commandos. While his rank is never given (in fact, the only Penguin with a rank is the eponymous Private), it may be assumed from the word 'skipper' that he carries the rank of Captain.

Private

Despite Private inexperience and ignorance, he is occasionally the only penguin able to resolve the main issue (episode) in the series. He is able to reach an end that has both parties in a 'win-win' situation

Kowalski

Kowalski is ranked as Second-In-Command, as Skipers Lieutenant, Shock Unit. Kowalski outranks in other penguins in height and intelligence.

Rico

Rico doubles as head of demolition and quartermaster for the Penguins. Which means all he sees is all he eats.

Eric Darnell (born August 21, 1961) is an American animator, storyboard artist, director, screenwriter, songwriter and occasional voice actor best known for co-directing Antz with Tim Johnson, as well as co-directing and co-writing Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted with Tom McGrath, as well as the spin off Penguins of Madagascar (2014) with Simon J. Smith.
