Let's go!

Martin Smith, a well-known youth activist for the environment and the rights of indigenous peoples, has set out to recover a report that has been stolen from him and that proves that certain human actions cause serious attacks on the environment. He believes this report is necessary to promote environmental peace and social justice in the area where he works. Can you help him? To find the report, you will need to complete several missions that will test your knowledge and common sense. Do you accept the challenge?

True, but it’s something that only happens in certain countries, where human rights are not respected. For example, in the last decade Global Witness has compiled cases of attacks and pressure on half a dozen activists in Central and South American countries (Brazil, Venezuela, Guatemala and Honduras).

Have you ever heard of the case of an activist being attacked because of their work. For example, in 2022 Global Witness documented attacks on 13 activists during a demonstration in New York, in front of the UN headquarters.

True: according to the organisation Global Witness, more than 1,700 people have died in the last decade for defending the environment and rights linked to the land.

Martin Smith knows that environmental activists also face a lot of pressure to abandon their investigations and demands.
