Equilibrium
What is equilibrium?
Objects in equilibrium don't have any linear or rotational acceleration. This requires all the net force and net torque to be equal to 0. Torque can be calculated at any pivot point, and it would still be 0.

Equilibrium can be counterintuitive
What forces are acting on the structure? Why doesn't it fall appart? Is the tension in the chain attached to the bottom of the floating piece equal, greater or less than the weight of the piece?
