When Did Christmas Die?

When Did Christmas Die?

(just exaggerating for the video essay)
NOT LITERALLY.

Why does Christmas not feel like Christmas anymore? When I was younger, Christmas used to feel vibrant, warm, and crispy all at the same time. The flavors of peppermint, hot chocolate, chicken, gingerbread, ham, and more were better (before). Even the feeling of happiness back then felt more real.

In other words...

07

Why are we so obsessed with Christmas and are we only celebrating to chase that feeling we once had (or felt)?

Why are we so connected to the feeling of Christmas when it doesn't feel like it anymore?

06

The more we grow, the more we don't recognize (or we don't feel) the Christmas spirit as much anymore.

Based on the efforts of parents or teachers, they put their all into Christmas events to make it magical. Why not anymore?

We tend to romanticize feelings from the past because we weren't thinking that much (at that moment in time).

Can it be that things change and/or people grow apart so they do not celebrate it like they used to?

Has the discovery of capitalism made people view Christmas differently and/or ruined it for the majority?

Some ideas I plan on including

not my pictures*

I am a nostalgic person who loves the feeling of Christmas, yet has not felt "jolly" since the age of 11 or 12 years old.

I am also very curious as to how this process happens and if it is a part of the human experience. As well as I want to search for the reason as to why we (people) can't ever feel this Christmas feeling ever again.

What is the point of making this? AKA Why Me?
