The News 10 November 2023 - St Bede's

Dear Parents,We have had a lovely start to the second half of term. Year 12 and Year 13 enjoyed a cheese and wine evening with Fr Philip and some of the House Team on Wednesday evening discussing aspirations for this year. Following the half term break it has been wonderful to hear of the adventures of Rosa in Greece, Kiki in New York, Sophia and Amber in Kenya and Meg in Barcelona. Nearer to home, Honor was hosting some Year 10 students for her 15th birthday while others enjoyed the delights of the coast, the countryside, London and Leeds. This week we are preparing for Remembrance Sunday and a special House Mass next week to remember our loved ones who have died. We will particularly remember the Old Boys and Old Girls of the House who have died recently. St Bede's has such a rich heritage and we are stewards of that memory. Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 are staying in House for a party and movie night on Saturday. Year 12 and Year 13 are having a 'when I'm 84' party in the Windmill -I've been surprised that some of the girls have thought my clothes would be appropriate for this event! Melisa, Lucy, Sophia and Izzy represented St Bede's magnificently at the Monitors supper on Thursday and Clemmie was our eucharistic minister in House Mass. Emmanuelle has ben a star monitor helping in EWSs with the Junior House pupils as well as participating in early morning runs and Squash matchs. All year 13s are preparing for their trial exams which are next week and I am hoping their conscientiousness and academic focus rubs off on the younger years.
