The flat sandy desert gives way to the Western Hajar Mountains, which run alongside Dubai's border with Oman at Hatta. The Western Hajar chain has an arid, jagged and shattered landscape, whose mountains rise to about 1,300 metres (4,265 feet) in some places.

Located near the Rub Al Khali, the Liwa Desert, also known as 'The Empty Quarter,' is a vast desert area known for its high dunes and extreme weather conditions. The highest sand dunes in all of UAE can be found here, with plenty to do and explore nearby.

The sun-kissed beaches in Dubai have attracted tourists from all over the world because of the spectacular view of the Persian Gulf. The Jumeirah Beach is one of the most famous places to visit in Dubai and it is known for its white sands. The soft and clear, fine granules let your feet sink right in.
