Industry Placement

    • What is work experience? What will they have to do?
    • How many hours do they have to do?
    • Can they be paid for it?
    • What happens if we don’t know anyone who will provide them with an industry placement / work experience?
    • What paperwork will I need to complete as a parent / gaurdian?

    Industry Placement

    • What is work experience? What will they have to do?
    Experience work in a ‘customer facing’ role
    • How many hours will they have to do?
    Studying Maths and / or English = 36 hours. Not studying either = 108 hours
    • Can they be paid for it?
    As a rule, students are not paid by the sponsor. This is voluntary work for the students' benefit.
    • What happens if we don’t know anyone who will provide them with an industry placement?
    The college will help you find a placement
    • What paperwork do I need to do?
    Sign and return the parent / guardian consent form

    English & Maths

    • HM Government's requirement that students (under 19) study toward achieving a Grade 4 GCSE in both English and maths
    • GCSE maths and English classes and support from 'The Hub'
    • Students taking November re-sits must continue to attend classes until the results are published on 12th January 2023

    Attendance and Punctuality

    • Attendance 100% (minimum 90%) in all Study Programme areas
    • Punctuality 100% (minimum 90%) in all Study Programme areas
    • Attendance can be monitored in 'MyDay' app*
    • Students must notify tutor of absence before the start of the college day
    • No time-off for holidays, driving lessons (100 days!)

    Achievement & Progression to L3+

    • Pass all 5 components of the course Study Programme (vocational, PPT, Industry Placement, Maths and English)
    • Complete all tutor-set coursework to the required standard and within the agreed deadlines
    • Have 90%+ attendance and achievement record (in all Study Programme areas)
