this year's theme:

• delve into the impact of blackness and black individuals on popular culture
• journey through the decades via photoshoots, writing, and dynamic events
• uncover the profound influence on music, sports, fashion, and more
• celebrate the luminous contributions of black creators and innovators
• experience a narrative that recognizes blackstar's enduring legacy in culture
• through photoshoots explore the 80s,70s, and 60s

roles + responsibilities

• stylistic researcher: a part of the aesthetics team, helps support creative direction through concept research, vision boarding, and wardrobe styling.
• production assistant: a part of production team, assists with logistical and hands-on aspects of productions and events. duties might include but are not limited to, scouting venues, setting up equipment, creating call sheets, etc.
• hair stylist: a part of aesthetics team, responsible for styling models' hair on shoot days.
• makeup artist: a part of aesthetics team, responsible for the models' makeup on shoot days.
• social media representative: supports social media managers in capacities of posting, and curating schedules/formats for doing so.
• photographer: responsible for shooting assigned photoshoots and events

The 2023-2024 Blackstar* Creative Team utilizes sub-teams to execute the vision by having the Aesthetics Team create visual inspiration, the Social Media & Marketing Team drive promotion, the Visual Content Team capture the essence, and the Production Team manage the logistics for a seamless realization of our creative endeavors.
