How to Prepare For running a marathon

Eat and drink properly

Make sure you are giving your body enough fuel and hydration.

Start a running plan

Break the marathon down into steps, so it seems less scary and envison the end goal.

Pace yourself

Always keep track of your pace so you know how fast you are going.

Choose a date that fits your schedule and one that gives you time to prepare.

Start with base mileage, running three-to-five times per week. Then a long run every 7–10 days. Next, some practice intervals and tempo runs. Be sure to include days of rest and recovery runs.
