Numberella and The Mystery Of The Missing Children
Ronnie Resist and Numberella are visiting the ANT Emporium to look at new skins for their hoverboards, when Numberella's holo-screen bleeps. It's Miss A Go. "Are you two doing anything?" she asks. "How do you know I'm with someone," asks Numberella, a bit annoyed. "I have my ways," says Miss A Go. "Well yes, Ronnie and I are shopping. What are you up to?" Numberella asks tartly. "Have you ever heard of Valatoga?" asks Miss A Go. "Er... the sunken city, abandoned in about 2060?" says Numberella. "Exactly," says Miss A Go. "But it wasn't abandoned. We discovered recently that small groups of Valatogans stayed behind rather than face life on the surface. They managed to get some of the Life Support Systems operational again...and they're still there."
HELP!
"Huh," says Numberella. "Well. Now, the Meltz have found a way of turning off the systems. It looks like they want to take it over as a base." "The dirty rotten swine," says Ronnie, his eyes glinting at the memory of Colonel Szplug and his henchmen. "Apparently there are some children stuck in one of the airlocks down there. But we don't know which one. And time is running out. We need some.. well, children... who might be able to fit through the narrow passageways down there and find them. The Valatogans are desperate, and they asked especially for you. Will you help?"

INDEX
Mission 1 - The Force Field
In the submarine, all is quiet, save the hum of the motors and occasional bump of the hull against a sleeping fish. "How long will it take to get there?" asks Ronnie. "About 30 minutes more," says Miss A Go. "I hope we get there in time. Those kids don't have long left." "Ugh," says Numberella. "I can't think of anything worse. Can you imagine? Trapped in cold water with the oxygen running out? Fearing that you're going to drown?" There was a beep from the sub intercom. "Right," says Miss A Go. "The Valatogans are sending through the coordinates we need to get through the Force Field. Hmm. They're encoded." "Force Field?" says Ronnie, curious.
Mission 1 - The Force Field
"The Valatogans send an intermittent EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) from beacons at the edge of their territory. It's like a wave that kills anything electric. Very dangerous when you're in an electric submarine!" "Yuh think?" mutters Ronnie sarcastically. "Once we've figured out the coordinates, we need to enter the tunnel network and follow the yellow lights to the rendezvous. Then a Valatogan is going to lead us to the grating where the pipe system begins. Here are the codes."

Mission 2 - The Tunnel
In front of them, there is a dark narrow tunnel, with yellow lights on the floor. As they follow the lights, the tunnel begins to angle downwards. The hull of the ship creaks with the increasing pressure. "Hootenanny," says Numberella. "I don't like this at all. Are we sure the sub can handle the depth?" "Don't be a cissy," says Ronnie. "The UR-Sub-500 is good for 500ft below. We're only at 150. Relax." "Subs can fail you know Ronnie," mutters Numberella. "Remember in History, there was that sub they took down to the Titanic, back in the old days. It imploded, killing everyone on board." "Och, relax Numberella," says Miss A Go. "That wasn't even safety tested. The idiot who designed them had a death wish. What was his name again?
Mission 2 - The Tunnel
"Stockton Rush," says Numberella. "Ah yes, that was it," says Miss A Go. "Anyway, these Ultra Radical subs have completed thousands of dives. Nothing to worry about." Ahead, the lights have stopped and the water is so dark it is hard to see any further. Suddenly everything goes black. "Robert The Bruce!" shouts Miss A Go. "It's a trap." The sub begins to sink. "150..." says Ronnie, "175, 200.." Numberella screams. A mechanical voice speaks over the intercom. "Enter passcodes to activate emergency recovery systems."

Mission 3 - The Wreck
"Colonel Szplug is behind this," says Miss Ago, breathing heavily as the lights flicker back on and the engines begin to whirr again. They have exited the tunnel, and in front of them there is an enormous shipwreck. "Reckon the children are in there!?," gulps Numberella. "Look at the yellow lights!" says Ronnie. "Reckon it's another trap?" "Wait," says Miss A Go, staring at her holo-screen, "There was another message. It had been hijacked by the Meltz, but the anti-viral software has retrieved it. These must be the real coordinates!" "Try and get the Valatogans on the radio," says Numberella. "Calling Valatoga," says Miss A Go, "This is Alpha Ship, over."
Mission 3 - The Wreck
Nothing on the radio but the crackle of static, and then, a ghostly panicked voice. "Roger Alpha Ship, the children have only minutes left. Where are you, over??" "Ship sabotaged, Meltz suspected, solving codes for new coordinates, over." "Hurry, Alpha Ship!" "Right let's crack these codes," says Numberella, "And get those children out of there!"

Mission 4 - The Children
"Full steam ahead!" says Miss A Go. "More like full volts ahead," murmured Ronnie. "Oh shut up Ronnie," says Miss A Go. "Sorry-y," says Ronnie. "Just trying to lighten the mood a bit. No one thinks clearly when they're stressed, Agatha, you know that." "Dinnae call me Agatha, yer wee brat," snaps Miss A Go. "Sorry Agatha," mutters Ronnie. "I'm telling you Ronald Resist, if you.." "Look," interjects Numberella. "Bubbles!"
Mission 4 - The Children
Sure enough, from a grating ahead of them at the bottom of the enormous wreck, just visible, are a stream of bubbles. "Make for the grating," barks Miss A Go, and the sub alters course slightly. "Calling Valatoga, grating in sight. Please send grating access codes. Numberella, Ronnie, it's time to shine. Solve the codes, and then suit up." "Suit up, she says," mutters Numberella. "Why doesn't she suit up? I bloomin' hate enclosed spaces..."
