Key Characteristics: Teachers will visit peer classrooms and observe teaching, classroom environment, and critical lessons. Effectiveness in creating professional development in adult learners in your context: This professional development model effectively creates learning opportunities for adult learners. It allows the observers to take strategies, structures, delivery, and methods they can use in their classrooms. Advantages: Teacher can observe their peers. Allows the learner to reflect on modifications that can be implemented in their own classroom. Disadvantages: Not all teachers are ready for peer observations. Some classrooms may have situations that are not learning moments. Examples of Activities: Teachers visit the peer classroom. Observers note one change they will make in their classroom based on observations.

Key Characteristics: Teachers analyze assessment results from a targeted subject, benchmark, or final. Teachers revisit the standards met. Lastly, they can compare classroom results, grade level, and school wide results. Effectiveness in creating professional development in adult learners in your context: This professional development model effectively creates a learning opportunities for adult learners. For instance, by observing data patterns teachers can target the areas that need to improve and help students. This model allows teachers to see where students are being successful and where they are struggling. By highlighting such points, it creates objectives for growth. Advantages: Targeted approach, patterns are visible, teachers can collaborate, and objectives can be developed. Disadvantages: Data does not always reflect all of the ways students have grown, data only shows growth for some standards, and it can become about numbers instead of a whole child approach. Examples of Activities: Benchmark analysis. Teachers can collaborate with their grade level team and analyze their results. In this collaboration, teachers will find ways to support each other and find resources to help improve scores.

Key Characteristics: Teachers will develop a curriculum that is structured, collaborative design of modules, units, lessons, and assessments to increase understanding and mastery of critical knowledge and skills in alignment with district and state benchmarks and the identification of instructional strategies and techniques to enhance student achievement Effectiveness in creating professional development in adult learners in your context: This professional development model effectively creates learning opportunities for adult learners. It allows the teachers to obtain information on the structure of the class. The curriculum design gives teachers time frames that will allow them to plan for student learning effectively. Advantages: It allows teachers to design curriculum pacing plans based on objectives. It gives teachers time frames for lessons. It can be a collaborative professional development. Disadvantages: The focus is narrow. It only focuses on identification and time frames. Some time frames are not realistic for classrooms/students. Examples of Activities: Teachers will work on a said curriculum. They will pace which lessons they will target on different quarters.

Key Characteristics: This PD focuses on the process of following a colleague as they demonstrate specific skills and strategies in order to improve professional performance Effectiveness in creating Professional Learners in your context: This professional development model effectively creates learning opportunities for adult learners. This PD allows learners to observe, analyze, and gather information to execute lessons or strategies properly. Advantages: Teachers will be exposed to various lessons, models, and strategies through observing teachers or specialists. Teachers can find ways to integrate what they have learned into their classrooms quickly. Disadvantages: Modeling, at times, does not occur with students or with students cooperating. Therefore, the lesson may be extraordinary. However, it does not reflect all the classrooms. Examples of Activities: Teachers will model strategies that can be used when identifying letter sounds.

Key Characteristics: In this professional development model teachers are observed by master teachers, specialists, or principal. This allows the teacher to receive feedback in her/his teaching practice. The teachers, specialists, and/or principal would meet after in mentoring session.Effectiveness in creating Professional Development in adult learners in your context: This professional learning model allows the teacher that is observed obtain the necessary feedback in order to make the proper modifications. By having someone observe your teaching practice, it helps in getting another perspective too. After the observation, the proper feedback will be given where corrections can be made. Advantages: Feedback, allows the observer to obtain new information, and refined teaching practices. Disadvantages: The information will be very minimal and teacher collaboration amongst peers is not present. Examples of Activities: Small group observations. Teachers can showcase one of their reading groups. Teachers will focus on the types of activities that are appropriate for reading groups.
