Hello Friends! Today we will be doing a fun activity on our chromebooks! We're going to explore the fantastic world of plants and animals. Get ready to learn more about food webs! There are 12 different colorful pins, buttons, or invisible spots that share information. Just guide your mouse slowly around the screen to find them. Look at all the different creatures or organisms on the screen too. Click the pins on them one by one! Each click will tell you something special about the creature. Pay attention to how the creatures are connected. Some creatures eat others, and some get eaten. They all have different roles. It's like a big puzzle! The most important thing is to understand that everything in nature is connected. Plants make food for animals, and animals help plants grow too. exploring the food web and discovering the secrets of nature.

After this activity, you will be able to identify what a food web is and how it works. You will be able to understand the elements of a food web, including the sun, plants and animals. You will also be able to recognize the connections between organisms within an ecosystem!

A turtle is an omnivore. They mainly eat aquatic plants, insects, and small fish. In this food web, it eats the waterlilly, grasshopper, minnow, and waterweeds. It gets eaten by the racoon and heron.

A bass fish is a carnivore. It eats other fish and insects. In this food web, it eats the minnow. It gets eaten by the heron and racoon.

A heron is a carnivore. It eats fish and other aquatic creatures. In this food web, it eats the bass and the frog. It does get eaten by the racoon. Now, the racoon will only go for the heron if it smaller or a baby.

A minnow is a herbivore. It eats aquatic plants and algae. In this food web, the minnow eats the waterweeds. It gets eaten by the turtle, bass, and racoon.

A frog is a carnivore. Frogs mainly eat insects. In this food web, the frog eats the grasshopper. It gets eaten by the heron, racoon, and bass.

A grasshopper is a herbivore. It eats plants near the pond's edge, like grasses and weeds. In this food web, it would eat the grass. It gets eat by the turtle, frog, and racoon.

A waterweed is a producer. In this food web, it gets eat by the turtle and minnow.

A racoon is an omnivore. They mainly eat fruits, aquatic animals, insects, and plants. In this food web, it eats the minnow, turtle, grasshopper, frog, and heron. It does not get eaten by anything in this food web, but it does get eaten by many other carnivores. Hawks and owls eat racoons.
