To find out more
While Britain did not go through a revolution, many social, political, and economic changes were made in order to provide a small amount of concessions to the people. This included shorter working hours (10 instead of 16) and more voice in Parliament
February Revolution, 1848 The French revolted as a result of the King Louis Philippe I, who disfranchised people, caused unemployement and an increase in the price of bread. After two days, the King would abdicate and France becomes a republic.
First Italian War of Independence The conflict was started due to a boycott of tobacco and gambling products, which generated a high revenue for Austria. This would lead to the Kingdom of Sardinia waging war against the Austrians until their defeat.
German Revolutions of 1848-1849 They sought to unify various German states in Europe, as well as to oppose the autocracy of the German Confederation in order to improve the working conditions of the working class. Eventually defeated by conservatives.
