New Jersey was founded for trading and profits. It was founded in 1664 by Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret. They were gifted the land in the colony by the king of England, so that made it a Royal Colony

ECONOMY
- New Jersey produced lots of iron and cattle. As part of the Middle "Breadbasket" Colonies, it produces lots of grains and cattle. Off the coast, they fished and produced a lot of fish to distribute. They are among the top producers of cranberries in the country. Each farm was 50 to 150 acres with a barn, house, yard, and fields.
