Abigail Adams was an advocte for women's rights. She wanted suffrage and equal opportunity for education. She also wanted the founding fathers to "remember the ladies" because they started the revolution by teaching their family republican values.
The Declaration of Indepence was written in the summer of 1776. It listed grievances about the king, and stated that natural rights had ben violated and the colonies wanted independence. The primary author was Thomas Jefferson
The Second Continental congress met in Philadelphia, PA to create the continental Army. They selected George Washington as the leader. They also sent the Olive Branch Petition to the king, which asked for peace and reconciliation, but it was ignored.
Lexington and Concrod are the first battles of the American Revolution. It is referred to as "The shot heard around the world" -

American was independent, and it's boundaries extended to the Mississippi River. It's borders were Canada in North and Spanish Florida in South
- Washsington and Fr. Gen. Jean Rochambeau trapped Brit. Gen. Lord Charles Cornwallis in the peninsular town of Yorktown. With the help of the French naval fleet, they kept Cornwallis from using the York river to leave.Washsington, Rochambeau, and the French fleet forced the British to surrender Oct. 1781
In December 1777, Washington settled troops at Valley Forge. 1/5 soldiers did from disease and starvation. Baron von Steuben and Marquis de Lafeyette helped Washington train troops in basic military skills
The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the revolution. It was the greatest win for America, and it got the French and Spanish to support the fight for independence.

"The Crisis" was written by Thomas Paine to the american people. It called for support of our troops because soliders weren't re-enlisting. He said "Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
