There were three selma marches all taking place in march of 1965 the marches were protesting black voting rights at the first march the marchers from heavily armed state troopers at the second march the marchers were ready to start but the march ended immedietly because of a barricade of state troopers and then at the third march the marchers marched successfully from Selma to Montgomery in 4 days these marches resulted in the voting rights act which got 250,00 new black voters Fun Fact it takes 50 minutes to Drive from Selma to Montgomery

This American flag was used in the second Selma march. Flags are often used in protests because they are often protesting rights in their country and showing what they think their country should be like. Flags are important in protests because they are just inconic and you just need them in every protest and the Selma marches are no diffrent and to have one that is orignal is very cool.
A sign used in protest at selma marches the word are faded out so can't see what it orignally said. It belonged to a citizen who lived near Selma. This is important because it shows what you are marching for shows what you blive while you are protesting.
Shoes that were worn in protest by a marcher in the third protest. They the were muddied because of how long they marched 50 miles in the shoes. These are important because I don't think the protesters could have walked 50 miles without shoes your feet would like disenigrate like 50 miles without shoes thats like impossible so yeah these are deffientely important.

The Greensboro sit ins took place in Greensboro, NC in 1960 it all started when a group of students sat at a whites counter and the waiters refused to take their order all day they just sat there and didn't say anything. Eventually more people kept joing them day after day and the white people threw cup and plates and them. These sit ins led to other sit-in type events at other restraunts during 1960. This event was important to the civil rights movement because it inspired other forms of protesting.Quiz time what do you think is older the Greensboro sit ins or bubble wrapA sit ins B Bubble wrapC the sameDONT LOOK HEAR UNLESS YOU READ THE QUIZ QUESTION if you answered C you are correct they were invented in the same year
A shattered beer bottle from someone threw at a member of sit ins face! During the sit ins white people would annoy spit and even through things at the protesteres. This is important because they just kept on throwing these at protesters and they were just taking them OW that has to hurt and I feel like this kept the whites at the restraunts trying to get the blacks mad and make them leave.
A barstool from the Greensboro sit ins this barstool. This stool resembles how strong and resilent the people who sat on these during greensboro were. This is important to history and to the civil rights movement because without these the sitins wouldn't have been able to sit down for the day. Also I just think it's crazy how they didn't snap at the whites for throwing things at them I just admire how resilent they were.
A plate they used at at the restraunt the sit ins started at these plates were obvoisly served with food but were also thrown at protesters! Did you know that plates in restraunts were a lot smaller than now. This is included in my musesem because I think it is a cool artifact is kind of cool

Martin Luther king gave one of the most inspiring speeches ever on August 28th 1963 he gave this speech on the steps of the memorial with 250,000 people in attendance. During the speech he talked about his dream that everyone would be treated equal no matter the color of there skin their sex or religon. This speech highlights how fair black lifes are compared to whites. Overall the I have a dream speech is just 16 minutes of pure perfection of dynamic and passionate speaking. did you know that the average person blinks 240 times in the time it took MLK to give the I have adream speech

Piece of paper the I have a Dream speech was origanally written on. This is the first draft of the speech it took him many many drfts to get it right. As you can see the words are faded out so we can't see what it said. I love this artifact because it is one of the most important pieces of paper in speech history and for the civil rights movement.
One of the microphones from his poduim during his speech. Although he had many microphones on the poduim in order for everyone to hear him this one of the orignal ones. I picked this to be a part of my muesem because without this all 250,000 people in attendance wouldn't have been able to here him during his speech. Also I like this artifact because look at what microphines looked at then and compare it to now.
The tie he wore while giving the speech. We will never know if MLK cared about style or not but this tie is the one he wore whilst giving the speech. I included this in my muesem because this is the center of MLKs suit on during the speech. I also think this artifact is cool because ties the are usually one color now they are more striped
