One of the most important documents in US history, the declaration of independence marked the beginning of an era of freedom. In July the American people compiled a list of grievances that they had against king george. The primary writer was Thomos Jefferson and it was signed on July 4th.

Remember the Ladies was a letter where Abigail Adams writes to her husband, saying how she wants women to be full political equals. She is stern on the fact that women want rights or will rebel against the men. Republican motherhood was important in society with how they thought of republican values in the household. Women's part in the revolution contributed to the boycotts and fought to expand their roles in society.

The second continental congress was made when selecting a leadership and declaring independence to british. Gathered in Philadelphia the second continental congress in order to form the continental army. Here is where george washiton was selected as leader, due to his experience in the indian war.

These battles are where the revolution officially begins, also known as the shot heard around the world. Lexington were the british attempts to arrest Samual Adams and John Hancock, 5 militia were killed. Concord was a British attempt to destroy concords, weapons and ammunition the militia stored there.

Once the US was finally independent we entered into the Treaty of Paris. Gaining all the new territory, that is known today as the United states of america. Agreements were made on both the British and American parties post war, as the two nations came to an agreement on the outcome regarding prisoners.

Final battle of the revolution signifying the defeat of the british. Washington and Fr. General Jean Rochambeur marched inland to trap the british. Assisted by the French Naval fleet, Washingot was able to siege the city from the British in october.

The location of the joint colonist camp was set up. Conditions were harsh and many got sick. Was used to train the colonists to fight low supplies. Smallpox breakouts and people died.

The battle of Saratoga staged a turning point in the revolution. With the help of the French the colonists were able to turn the tides of war. The battle conditions were harsh on the colonists who struggled with the cold conditions.
