Limit by date to focus on new/recent technologies (?2010>)Won't limit by country as it will be interesting to see what is happening globally Both qualitative and quantitative research would be useful ? limit to articles only about nursing, but also useful to consider other educational sources
Using 'technology' as initial search term worked well, using AND to add further terms 'pre-learning or flipped classroom' AND 'nursing'. Adding 'retention' yielded less results. Google scholar gave a larger number of results (270+). ERIC gave over 2000 results initially but when I limited 'nursing' to the title it reduced to 190. I was concerned that results specific to nursing education might be uncommon but I did find many articles specific to nurse education. I found it useful to focus on both educational and healthcare databases to broaden my search. The CINAHL database gave me 30 results mostly r.e. using technology in flipped classroom teaching for nursing students which was really interesting.
