Children who are low on confidence in mathematics need to a reason to believe in themselves again. Be in no doubt that they want to believe in themselves. Everyone hopes to succeed in anything they attempt, when they first attempt it. Early failures damage this aspiration. Early failures are common - inevitable - in a subject like mathematics. Numberella Deluxe has been data proven by two separate trials to make children better at mathematics. The first trial took place at Boston Witham Academy in Lincolnshire. All of the children taking part improved their grades. To read the full report click here. The second trial took place at Gayhurst School, Buckinghamshire. In this trial, there was a control group who did not play Numberella. Those playing Numberella improved in their end of year assessment by twice as much as those in the control group. Numberella Starters is a version of Numberella designed to offer teachers a fresh way to engage kids at the beginning of the class. You use Deluxe Game Card decks 2-5 only. Deal the cards out to the class so that each player has 4 cards. Set a 5 minute timer. Players ask each other questions. Get the question right to keep the card. Record scores into Numberella Software.

Edition I Level 2 Card - 1-16 - should say "Arrange the dice in a cuboid - length 3, breadth 2, height 1 - so that the numbers on top multiply to make 40." Edition II Level 1 - Card 6-2 - should say "You have 5 rolls. Roll consecutive even numbers, etc' - Card 6-23 - should not say '.. and a sextuple 200.'
