CAUSA: assenza o difetto dell'enzima TIROSINASI, enzima coinvolto nella sintesi della Melanina. L'albinismo è il risultato di un'ereditarietà autosomica recessiva ed è noto per la sua incidenza su tutti i vertebrati, incluso l'uomo.
