Origin

William Edwards Deming Born on October 14, 1900 in Sioux City, Iowa, United States, he was a renowned American statistician, professor and business consultant. His father, a struggling lawyer, lost a lawsuit in Powell, forcing Deming's family to move to Powell when he was 7 years old.

Deming moved to Laramie in 1917 to begin studying at the University of Wyoming. There he pursued a degree in electrical engineering, which he completed in 1921.Deming continued his education with a master's degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Colorado. Then, in 1928, he received his doctorate in Physics from the prestigious Yale University. His thesis was entitled "A Possible Explanation of the Packing Effect of Helium".
