Antibiotic Antifungal Antiviral Small Group Activity
Objectives 1. Collaborate with colleagues to discuss patient cases
2. Apply antimicrobial concepts to patient cases
3. Name specific agents in different drug classes of antimicrobials including antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals
4. Describe the mechanisms of action of each antimicrobial drug class
5. Identify spectrum of activity for specific antimicrobials including unique nuances in drug classes
6. Discuss adverse effects and drug interactions of antimicrobials
Break up into your group and take 15-20 minutes to discuss the clinical vignette given to you. The assigned question number can be found on the last slide. Utilize any resources that you would like. Once the discussion time is up, have a designated speaker, present what answer(s) you have, and provide an explanation for the answer to your vignette.
