Shissler's Spongy Eggs
Ingredients:12 eggs1/4 cup milk1/2 loaf of bread (torn into pieces)1 lb loose breakfast sausage1/2 onion (diced)1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese salt aand pepper to tasteoptional: any veggies you enjoy (diced)You can add or remove anything you want in the filling. The key is the bread to make the eggs "spongy" and fluffy. Directions: 1. Cook the sausage and onion (an any other veggies you like) in a pan until cooked though and crumble the sausage.2. Spray an 8x8 casserole dish with cooking spray.3. Add the bread pieces, cooked sausage and veggies, and cheese to the cassrole dish.4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt and pepper.5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, sausage, and veggies in the casserole dish. 6. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and let refridgerate overnight. 7. Set oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. 8. Bake for about 1 hour until a toothpick comes out clean.
