I come from a teacher exchange program between Spain, Mexico, and the United States.
I am Miss Hernandez. I am the second grade Spanish teacher and I also do guided reading in Spanish in tk, kindergarten and first grade.
Soy Ms. Hernández. Soy la maestra de español de segundo grado y también realizo lectura guiada en español en kinder, TK y primer grado. Vengo de un programa de intercambio de profesorado entre España, México y Estados Unidos.

Experts recommend that children should read at least 20 minutes a day. At school we carry out different reading activities and we have a guided reading expert Ms. McMillen who intervenes with our students.

Los expertos recomiendan que los niños y niñas deben leer 20 minutos al día.De esta manera mejorarían un 90% sus resultados académicos.En la escuela realizamos diferentes actividades de lectura y tenemos una experta en lectura guiada Ms. McMillen que interviene con nuestros estudiantes.
- Create a reading routine at home (before bed, when they get home from school...).
- Write down each word.
- Work on reading comprehension: asking questions.
- Go to a library at least once a month.
- Choose a variety of books (different cultures, languages, people, countries, ideas, etc.)
- Be an example for your children, read at home.
- Have easy books for them, and books at their reading level.
- Crear RUTINA de lectura en casa (antes de dormir, al llegar de la escuela...)
- Apunten cada palabra que leen.
- Trabajen la comprensión lectora: haciendo preguntas.
- Vayan a la biblioteca al menos una vez al mes.
- Elijan una variedad de libros (diferentes culturas, lenguajes, personajes, países, ideas, etc.).
- Sean un ejemplo, lean en casa.
- Tener cuentos sencillos y de su nivel de lectura.
