COME TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS EVENT

  • Black history month(BHM) in the UK is celebrated in October. The reason as to why we are celebrating this important month in St margaret's Academy is to express the richness of black culture and to acknowledge the black community here at St margarets.
In St margaret's we beleive that:

She was an American political activist, professor, and author who was an active member in the Communist Party and the Black Panther Party

Can you guess who these people are based on their descriptions ?

She worked for the Union Army, first as a cook and nurse, then as an armed scout and spy. She is particulary well known for excorting a huge number of slaves to freedom.
