What are they?

STATIVE VERBS

Verbs are called "stative" when they describe feelings, thoughts, senses. They are not used in continuous tenses.

STATIVE VERBS

COMMUNICATION, POSSESSION, RELATIONSHIP
FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS
PERCEPTION AND THOUGHT
Believe, think, understand
Adore, like, love
Dislike, hate, despise
Look, seem, smell
Agree, deny, disagree
Belong, have, own

STATIVE VERBS

CAREFUL!

These verbs include: feel, have, look, smell, think.

Some stative verbs can be used in a non-stative way.
