Superman the movie (1978) is based on the character of a comic.
Superman was born on planet Krypton and sent to Earth.
He was adopted and named Clark Kent.

E.T

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a 1982 American science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg.
It tells the story of Elliott, a boy who meets E.T., who is left behind on Earth.

Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948) was an Indian lawyer who led nonviolent protests against the British rule.
He inspired movements for freedom across the world.

malala Yousafzai

Malala was born in Pakistan in 1997. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, when she was 17.
She is a female education activist.
On 9 October 2012, the Taliban shot her in the head with a bullet, but she survived.
She studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University.

Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865) was the 16th President of the USA.
He abolished slavery.

Dr. Martin Luther King (1929–1968) was an American Baptist minister and civil rights activist.
He was assassinated in 1968.
His famous speech: "I have a dream".

nelson mandela

Nelson Mandela (1918–2013) was a South African anti-apartheid activist, the racial segregation regime in South Africa.
He was the first black president in his country.
He served 27 years in prison for his ideas against racial segregation.

Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955 for refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

Frankenstein's monster

This is Frankenstein's monster played by English actor Boris Karloff in the film Frankenstein (1931).

Question 7: Who are they?What do they have in common?

In May 1816, the English poet Lord Byron, invited Mary and her boyfriend to spend the summer in Geneva, Switzerland.
One night, Lord Byron proposed that they write "a ghost story".....and Mary wrote Frankenstein.
The book is about Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a man, the Creature, from dead bodies parts.

Mary Shelley (1797–1851) was an English novelist who wrote a novel in 1818, when she was 18 years old.

Henry VIII was the father of Mary and Elizabeth.
They were very intelligent.
They spoke several languages, for example, Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and of course, Spanish!

King Henry VII (1491–1547) was king of England from 1509 until 1547.
He established the Church of England because he wanted to divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragón.
Henry married six times!
And he killed some of his wives, too!

Elizabeth I (1533–1603) was Queen of England and Ireland for 44 years!
Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, who was executed when Elizabeth was 2 years old.
Elizabeth never married or had children.

Mary I (1516–1558), or María Tudor, was Queen of England and Ireland and later, Queen of Spain after marrying King Philip II.
Mary was the only child of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragón.

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, near London.
He married Anne Hathaway when he was 18 and Anne 26.
They had 3 children.

He was an actor, a poet, a playwright.
He co-owned The Globe Teatre.
He wrote 37 plays.
He is the greatest writer in the English language!

Mary was the first Afro American woman to work for NASA.
Katherine helped NASA put a man on the Moon with her mathematical calculations!

Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was an English mathematician.
She collaborated with Charles Babbage, the inventor of the first mechanical computer, the Analytical Engine:

They were mathematicians!
Joan Clarke and Alan Turing had been close friends.
They shared many hobbies and became very good friends at Bletchley Park, a secret Government Code and Cypher School.
Turing proposed marriage to Clarke in 1941. He told her he was homosexual.
Finally, they broke up.

Alan Turing (1912–1954) was an English mathematician and cryptanalyst who studied at Cambridge university.
He designed "The Bombe", a kind of computer, to help crack the German's messages during WWII.

In 1952 he was convicted of homosexuality and "chemically castrated".
He died of cyanide poisoning.

Joan Clarke

Joan (1917-1996) was an English mathematician and cryptanalyst.
She studied Mathematics at Cambridge University. She did not get her degree because she was a woman.
She was a code-breaker during the Second World War.
She was part of the Enigma project that decrypted the Nazi's secret communications.

Michael Jordan was born in New York (1963). He is 1.98 metres tall.
Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. He played fifteen seasons in the NBA.
He popularized basketball and the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a global cultural icon.

Serena Williams was born in 1981 in Michigan, USA.
She is considered the greatest tennis player of all time.

He is the greatest sprinter of all time.
