Debut (Taylor Swift

Released in 2006

Album

Her first album, called Taylor Swift, often called Debut, came out in 2006. It is mainly a country-pop album with self-written and co-written songs. Taylor´s first album helped her to get into the industry (and becoming it). As it even reached Top 1 in the US Billboards.

The Era

ERAS

2006-2008

Debut era is mainly about cowboy boots, bouncy curls and acoustic guitars. It´s all about the colours green, blue and teal.

Fearless

Released in 2008

Album

In 2008, Taylor came out with her second album, called Fearless. It came with some of her most known songs like Love Story or You Belong With Me. It´s also part of the country genre but it definitely has a pop-ier feeling. "Being Fearless doesn't mean you're completely unafraid and it doesn't mean that you're bulletproof. It means that you have a lot of fears, but you jump anyway"

The Era

2008-2010

Album

Fearless, like Taylor herself said, is about trying altough you might be scared. During this era, Taylor wore a lot of glitter, still had her incredible curls and was always seen in gold of some kind.

Speak Now

Released in 2010

Album

Taylor´s third album, that could´ve been called Enchanted, was completely self-written. I'd get my best ideas at 3:00 a.m. in Arkansas, and I didn't have a co-writer around so I would just finish it.

The Era

2010-2012

ERAS

Still filled with glitter, Speak Now involves tons of purple and flowy dresses and fireworks. It´s magical and still in the country-pop genre, Speak Now mirrors the feelings of growing up as Taylor is now 21-23.

Red

Released in 2012

Album

These descriptions are hard af. Red was the best way to tell someone about 2012. It´s filled with songs which lyrics you´ll scream in a car with the windows open, and when the next song comes you cry to it.. It´s raw feelings and real emotion felt alone.

The Era

2010-2012

ERAS

Red is summertime, heart sunglasses and bight red lipstick and bangs. It´s getting over someone you know you´ll never really forget. It´s having sleepovers with your best friends and eating ice cream all night long and then crying together.

1989

Released in 2014

Album

1989, Taylor´s first completely pop album, is all about a new york trip with your friends, taking polaroid pictures and eating cake with your hands. It´s sweet love and dreaming wide awake. Knowing you deserve a castle but settling for a tiny bedroom with water falling into it. It´s named after Taylor´s birth year, nineteen ninety-nine.

The Era

2014-2017

ERAS

This was Taylor´s longest era, filled with light blue dresses and shorter hair. Those white and thick sunglasses and white birds, for some reason. It´s lyrical and special. It´s wild and sincere and feels like a long letter to a friend you haven´t seen in years. But, it´s also insanity and screaming in someone´s face when they break your heart, and then calling your mother crying in the middle of the night.

Reputation

Released in 2017

ALBUM

One of her most iconic album, Reputation is a come-back from the dead- It´s as if Taylor´s reputation has been killed off, and she is re-inventing herself. Though it seems like just a dark and witty album, it is filled with vulnerabity and love. It is about only feeling well and live when everything else is collapsing around you."And in the death of her reputation, she felt trully alive" It´s exactly what the private parts of someone´s life feels like.

The Era

2017-2019

ERAS

Reputation era is all about being private. not a secret. It´s peaceful and deep love but caring for yourself just as much.It´s cleaning up after a party together and sit on the floor after. It´s still a lot of glitter, but also gold and black. and snakes. It´s a real connection with someone you will never forget about.

Lover

Released in 2019

ALBUM

Lover, embodies the fear of loving and of self-sabotage. Even though it´s seen as a pure in-love album, Lover also portraits all the anxiety and doubt that love comes with. It talks about loss and letting yourself fall too. Taylor described the album as a "Love letter to love, in all of its maddening, passionate, exciting, enchanting, horrific, tragic, wonderful glory"

The Era

2019-2020

ERAS

Taylor´s shortest era, cut-off due to covid and the birth of both Folklore and Evermore, is a fan-favorite.
