AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT
An electric circuit is a pathway for the flow of electrons. It consists of the following parts, which are connected by electric wires: a generator, control and protection elements and receivers.
PARTS OF ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT :GENERATORS RECEIVERS CONTROL ELEMENTS PROTECTION ELEMENTS
ELECTRICAL QUANTITIES
2.1. Voltage or potential difference (V) Voltage is the energy that the generator can provide to electrons to move through the circuit. It is measured in volts (V) using a voltmeter. 2.2 Electric current (I) It is the charge or number of electrons that flows through the cross section of a conductor every second. We can express this mathematically as follows: I = Q t According to the definition above, one amp is the charge of one coulomb which travels through the cross section of a conductor in one second: 1 A = 1 C 1 s Remember that 1 coulomb equals the charge of 6.2·10elevated18 electrons. Electric current is measured in amperes or amps (A) using an ammeter.
The electrical resistance of an electrical conductor is a measure of the difficulty to pass an electric current through that conductor. It is measured in ohms using an ohmmeter.
ohm `s law
Ohm's law states that the current through an electrical circuit is directly proportional to the voltage supplied by the generator and inversely proportional to the resistance that exists in the circuit
electric power
The electric power is the capacity that any electric receiver has to transform the electric energy in a certain time. We can calculate the electric power by using this expression:
electric energy
This type of power plants produces most of the electricity we consume. Thermal power plants Combined cycle power plants Nuclear power plants Hydroelectric power plants
the electric energy is measured in joules J.

SERIES AND PARALELL CIRCUITS
Two-terminal components and electrical networks can be connected in series or parallel. The resulting electrical network will have two terminals, and itself can participate in a series or parallel topology.
ELECTRIC POWER PLANTS
7.1 Conventional power plants This type of power plants produces most of the electricity we consume. Thermal power plants Combined cycle power plants Nuclear power plants Hydroelectric power plants
7.2 Non conventional power plants The environmental problems caused by conventional power plants have led to the creation and development of non conventional or alternative energy power plants. Wind farms Solar power plants Geothermal power plants Biomass power plants Ocean power plants
