Sexism is any expression (act, word, image, gesture) based on the idea that some people, mainly women, are considered inferior on the basis of their gender.

Sexism is at the root of gender inequalities. It affects women and girls disproportionately. Sexism especially affects women. But it can also play men and boys, when they don't conform to stereotypical gender roles.

Those who suffer it can feel useless, change their behavior and suffer from a deterioration in their state of health.
