Il Sudafrica presenta una grande varietà di climi e di ambienti naturali. Nel suo complesso il territorio è un vasto tavolato percorso da fiumi come l'Orange e il Limpopo.Nel 1902, si formò l'Unione Sudafricana. Il nuovo governo stabilì una politica di discriminazione razziale. Nel 1948 il governo impose l'apartheid.

Nelson Mandela died in 2013 at the age of 95. Today, he is an inspiration to people al around the world.

He was born in South africa in 1918. In 1944, he joined the African National Congress (ANC). Mandela criticised the government and he organised protests. At the age of 46, he was arrested and he was sent to prison on Robben Island. In 1990, Mandela was finally released from prison.In the 1994 elections, black South Africans could vote for the first time. They chose Mandela as their country's first black president.
